As a Scissorsmith, I am very lucky. During my career I have been around and involved with a huge metamorphosis.

Damascus Steels have arrived in Hair Scissors. The Damascus tradition of laminated (folded) blades probably established in the Middle East though there is much debate about where the technology originated. The Japanese, as they do with most things, refined the technology to begin their incredible 1500 year lineage of Sword blades, the finest in the world of Folded Laminated blades.

On the deepest level of bladesmithing – back at the hot forging stage - I have been working for many years now with Yamamura Forging in Japan whose incredibly good quality forgings of Hitachi’s metal have been the basis for the success of Excellent Edges around the world. They have been working to produce a Damascus Stainless blade and now they have arrived. I am using these forgings to make my Signature Series – that condense my decades of Scissor-smithing in the finest that I can produce – the summit of Excellence.
